"One Way or Another..."

"We knew the world would not be the same

few people laughed, few people cried

most people were silent . . .

I remembered the line from the Hindu Scripture, the Bhagavad Gita. . .

Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty. . .

and to impress him, takes on his multi armed form and says 'now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds', . . . I suppose we all thought that, one way or another."

"One way or another

we will end this war"

they said -

as if the

greatest slaughter

could bring

meaning to

all ends-

for

breaking these bonds

of humanity-

we cannot

make amends

Faceless soldier of sorts-

a snake with

two heads

Without the honor -

and all the horror-

"One way or another"

we cannot make amends

for all the sages

of all of the ages

cannot begin to cleanse-

the blood shed

of a war Ended as

Senselessly

as it was led-

for

breaking these bonds

of humanity-

we cannot

make amends

we cannot make amends
